IPG

IPG Is short for Ion Plating Gold and it is well known as "fumace-produced gold"(in contrast to galvanic plating). The color of IPG varies and the variations are named as 0.5N, 1 N. 2N and 3N. IPG coating consists of gold layer and titanium nitride layer. The gold layer on surface is used for decorative purpose while the titanium nitride layer beneath provides high resistance to abrasion and corrosion effect. The thickness of titanium nitride layer ranges from 0.4pm to 1.2pm while the thickness of gold layer ranges from 0.05pm-0.2pm.

The technique to manufacture the IPG coating evolves from the traditional ion plating to the sputtering plating.
